My Little Fluffies~Nightmare Night Special by DragonsAndDreamscape My Little Fluffies~Nightmare Night Special by DragonsAndDreamscape
Happy Nightmare Night! Read all the Fluffies comics here [link]

No, I don't celebrate Halloween. I just can't do that with a good conscience ever since knowing the origins of the holiday.
But Nightmare Night is different! It's ponies! So, here's a Nightmare Night special that is TOTALLY NON-CANNON to the rest of the series! It also features Doccy being 20% creepier!
THIS COMIC WILL MAKE NO SENSE IF YOU DON'T LISTEN TO THIS FIRST!!!! [link]
Also, the style is partially based off of this [link]

Club Penguin inspired my nightmare night comic. Yes.

Oh, awesome, we should meet up sometime! I still play the game, just not as much as I used to thanks to being short on time of late. But I'll usually be there for parties and secret agent events at the very least. :)

I don't know why the origin of Halloween would deter you from celebrating it. It's adapted from the Pagan celebration of Samhain, which is the Summers' End celebration (although it was originally celebrated on November 1). It's just about recognizing that Summer is ending and Fall is here. What's wrong with that.....? :o

While that is partially true, there are also many spiritualistic origins to the holiday.
You can read about it here [link] and here [link]
So that's my reasoning. Doesn't mean I have problems with people who do celebrate it. In fact, one of my closest friends does! I just don't do it myself. :/

ummm...well,not to be rude or anything, but I read through both of those (not learning anything new,but I wanted to be polite and read it all anyway) and I still can't really see any reason not to celebrate it. What part of it's origins, exactly, makes you uncomfortable? Again, not trying to be rude,I'm genuinely curious. It might give me insight in the future.

It's okay, I realize that it seems unusual nowadays for someone to have any qualms about celebrating Halloween. I don't mind your curiosity!
As you know, one of the biggest contributors to the celebrations of Halloween was the belief that the spirit world opened up for the dead to come back and spend one night with the living. This idea strongly goes against my faith. I firmly believe that the dead are to remain sleeping until judgement day, when the Lord will separate them and send them to The Lake of Fire or to Paradise. (Hell or Heaven)
I also beleive that there is no such thing as unsinful witchcraft. God has said that witchcraft is a sin, and I believe.
So as you can imagine, the whole celebration filled with witchcraft and ghosts really gets to me after a while. Long story short, it's core goes against my religion.

Ah. Well,I can respect that those are your beliefs. I have a rather odd mix of religious views myself. My beliefs center mainly around Wicca and Bhuddism. I actually celebrate both Halloween and Samhain, because I think it's a nice way to have fun while remembering those who have left us,and I don't think any of our dead friends or relatives would want to see us sad and mopey because they're gone, but would like to see us happy and enjoying the life they no longer have. And,hey,if we are going to be jubilant in memory of their lives, why can't they come and be happy with us,for just this one day a year? I see no problem with that :) It makes me happy to think that my grandma, who I was very close to when she was alive, would be here to see how much I've grown and how happy I am with life. I know that would make her happy, too.

Wow. Getting kind of emotional here, thinking about her. Pardon.

Since we seem to have very differing opinions on this, and I wouldn't want anything like this to cause a rift in our friendship, shall we agree to disagree and move on?
